FREMONT, MI (AP)
Controversy continues to follow the Fremont Furtraders early in the 1935 season. In the wake of this weeks brawl
between veterans Bill Terry and Dazzy Vance, a photo of manager Jack Quinn (left) has circulated among the
clubhouse and made its way into the hands of the media.
Pictured in the photo is St. Louis Bubonic Plague catcher Jimmie Wilson (right). Many insiders suggest the culprit is new Furtrader Bill Terry
who was heavily fined and threatened by Quinn and Furtrader management. He is the center of speculation, but at this
time was unavailable for comment. At the time of this report, both Quinn and Wilson were similarly unavailable.
In related news, pitcher Dick Coffman has announced that he plans on writing a book about his time in Hershey and Fremont now that he is away from the Furtraders. "There are still some things that need to see the light of
day," promised Coffman.
Montgomery manager Mickey Cochrane responded by outrighting Coffman to AAA Springfield. "He'll have plenty of time to write down on the farm,"
Cochrane reportedly said, "because he sure as hell won't do it here this year." The press release announcing Coffman's new book was signed by his co-author
and collaborator.
