Biography
“Doc” Farrell, a dentist when he wasn't wearing a baseball uniform, played every infield position during his career. His best season was 1927 when he hit .316 while dividing his time between the New York Giants and the Boston Braves. That season he collected 179 hits and drove in 92 runs. In 1932 he was traded to the New York Yankees and played in 26 games. But with Gehrig at 1st, Lazzeri at 2nd, Crosetti at short, and Joe Sewell at 3rd, Doc didn't make an appearance in the Yankees' 1932 World Series victory over the Chicago Cubs. Doc retired after the 1935 season after appearing in four games for the Boston Braves.

Taken from the Conlon Collection, 1991 card number 324.
