January 1, 1934: Drafted 2nd round (12th overall) by Harlem.
January 1, 1937: Traded by Harlem with Buddy Myer to St Louis for their First Round Pick in 1937.
December 19, 1937: Traded by St Louis with Harry Danning and the First Round Pick in 1938 to Montgomery for Pepper Martin, Ben Chapman, Russ Bauers and Don Padgett.

January 1, 1942: Traded by Montgomery with Eddie Smith and the second-round pick in the 1942 draft to St Louis for their first-round pick in 1942 draft.


Biography

In his career, he posted a 109-118 record with a 3.97 ERA in 2,004 innings pitched. He recorded 13 saves and 851 strikeouts. He was 22 years old when he made his debut with the Indians in 1934. He pitched 200.2 innings in 1947 for the Indians, posting a 9-14 record with a 4.57 ERA. Some of his best seasons came for the St. Louis Browns. He was 12-12 in 1942 and 11-11 in 1943. He only posted two winning seasons in his career -- 8-7 for the Indians in 1936 and 11-7 for the Red Sox in 1947. According to reports, Galehouse pitched for the Brown on Sundays at the start of the 1944 season. For the rest of the week, he was working in a factory to support the war effort. Galehouse was the winning pitcher in the first game of the 1944 World Series, but lost 2-0 in Game 5. In 1948, Galehouse was the starting pitcher for the Red Sox in the one-game playoff against the Indians. Cleveland won the game 8-3 and went on to beat the Boston Braves in the World Series.
