Biography
Hoag came up to the Yankees as a reserve outfielder, playing behind the legendary Babe Ruth. His most notable day of his career was on June 6, 1934, when Hoag went 6-for-6 with six singles against the Red Sox. In 1936, Hoag and Joe DiMaggio collided chasing down a Goose Goslin drive, fracturing Hoag's skull. He had a silver plate implanted in his head, and was back with the Yankees one year later.
