A nearly-flawless fielder and steady hitter, Mr. Judge played 18 of his 20 major league years with the Senators and was on their only two pennant winning teams, in 1924 and 1925.

Small for a first baseman - 5 feet 8½ inches and 155 pounds - he led the American League in fielding of his position for nine straight years.

Mr. Judge hit more than .300 for 10 seasons here and ended with a life-time .298 average.

In 1932 Joe Kuhel began taking over a Washington's first baseman. Mr. Judge played for Brooklyn in 1933 and wound up his career with the Boston Red Sox in 1934.

In 1936 he became baseball coach of Georgetown University. Holding that job until his retirement in 1958 except for two years as a Senator's coach in 1945-46.
