Biography
Attended Louisiana State University on a football scholarship.
Rowell his a home run on May 30, 1946, that destroyed the large Bulova clock in the rightfield stands at Ebbets Field. This home run was the inspiration for Roy Hobbs' home run off the light tower in the book (and film) "The Natural."
