Biography
Mr. Walker had a batting average of .304 during his ten years in big-league baseball. He played with the New York Giants, the New York Yankees, the Philadelphia Phillies, and was with Cincinnati from 1924 to 1930.

In 4,858 official times at bat, he struck out only 254 times.
In 1926 Mr. Walker tied a major league record when he hit two triples in the same inning against the Boston Braves.

Mr. Walker was one of three big-league baseball players from Beeville. The other two are Lloyd Brown and Bert Gallia, both of whom were pitchers. In addition to his duties as justice of the peace, Mr. Walker ran a funeral home in Beeville.
