Biography
Whitehill saw action with Detroit from 1923 through 1932, then wore a Senator uniform from 1933 to 1936. He played the 1937 and 1938 campaigns with Cleveland before moving to the Chicago Cubs in 1939.

He helped the Senators to win the American League pennant in 1933. In the world series that year Mr. Whitehill defeated the New York Giants, 4-0, for the Senators lone triumph in the classic.

On May 30, 1934, Mr. Whitehill just missed baseball fame when he turned back the Yankees on one hit, 1-0, in the first game of a double-header.

He also served as a coach with the Indians in 1941 and the Philadelphia Phillies in 1943.
