MUSKEGON - Bill Lee threw 9 strong innings and Stan Hack had three hits as the Muskegon Thunder Dawgs defeated the Harlem Knights, 6-2, to take a 2-0
lead in the 1941 World Series.
Lee took the hill for Muskegon, while Bobo Newsom started for Harlem. The Knights got on the board first, with a Bill Nicholson home run in the second.
Muskegon took the lead in the 5th on Stan Hack's two-run homer that landed just inside the pole.
In the bottom of the 7th, the Dawgs finally got to Bobo Newsom, sending him packing with a four-run inning and giving Muskegon a 6-1 lead. The Knights
tried to rally in the ninth, but only pushed one run across as the Dawgs won, 6-2.
After a travel day, the Series moves to Harlem for Game 3.
