NORTH DALLAS OUTLASTS HARLEM IN TEN, 6-5

North Dallas battled back from a two-run deficit to defeat the Harlem Knights in 10 innings, 6-5. The victory gives the Forty a 2-1 lead in the World Series.

Early Wynn and Milo Candini started off with two shutout innings each, before North Dallas scored their first run on a Mickey Livingston passed ball. A Roy Cullenbine triple scored Elbie Fletcher, giving the Forty a 2-0 lead. Harlem got those two right back in the bottom of the frame, courtesy of a two-run triple by Rudy York.

The Knights took the lead on a two-run single by Charlie Keller in the fifth, scoring Swish Nicholson and Rudy York. However, the 4-2 lead was short lived. North Dallas battles back with three runs in the sixth, capped by the go-ahead single by Ken Keltner. The Knights tied it back up in the seventh innings on a Nicholson home run, his second in as many games.

The score remained tied at 5 through nine. North Dallas came to bat in the tenth, and got a lead-off double by Lou Klein. Lonnie Frey moved Klein over to third on a single, bringing up Buffy Rosar. With the infield in, Rosar dribbled one to third. Ralph Hodgin's throw got to Livingston a little late, and Klein scored what wound up being the winning run.

The two teams meet again tomorrow afternoon for game 4.
