NORTH DALLAS WINS TITLE, 9-8

It took ten innings to finally keep Harlem down for good. The North Dallas Forty got an double by pitcher Vern Kennedy in the top of the tenth to give them a 9-8 win, clinching their first DBS Championship since 1936 and their fourth overall.

The Knights kept battling back from deficit after deficit before finally staying down for good. Down 5-1 going into the fifth, they scored thrice in the frame, only to give back two to the Forty in the top of the sixth inning. Harlem got those two back in the bottom of the sixth, gave up another in the 7th, and finally tied the game at 8 in the bottom of the 7th. The score remained that way until Kennedy's double.

The Knights fought valiantly in this series, but were clearly overmatched at the plate. Congratulations to the Forty on their fine season.
