St Louis - St Louis got 8+ strong innings from Whitey Moore and Jimmie Foxx had three doubles is his return as the Plague defeated Harlem 6-3, to cut Harlem's lead in the World Series to 2 games to one.
Harlem scored one run in the first inning on a bases-loaded passed ball, and it was all Plague from there. Red Rolfe lead off the bottom of the first with an infield single, and Doc Cramer knocked him in with a double. Cramer scored when Bill Dickey blooped a single to center, and St Louis had a 2-1 lead.
St Louis added two more runs in the third when Bob Johnson doubled home Cramer, followed by a fielder's choice by Cecil Travis which scored Bill Dickey from third.
Harlem starter Bobo Newsom kept having trouble and bad luck, allowing five runs in 4 and a third innings. The Knights added a pair of runs in ninth with home runs by Chuck Klein and Charlie Keller, but it was too little too late as St Louis held on to win 6-3.
Game four is tomorrow afternoon, when Bob Feller takes the mound for the Plague against Luke Hamlin for the Knights.
