St Louis - The Plague spotted starter Marius Russo a three-run first inning lead, only to watch Russo squander it under an 18-hit attack that left the Knights one game from their third-straight championship.

St Louis started quickly on Lefty Grove, scoring three times in the bottom of the opening frame, including a two-run homer by Jimmie Foxx. The 3-0 lead was short-lived, however. Harlem scored twice in the third, four times in the third, and another four times by the seventh to build a 10-3 lead. Grove recovered from his shaky start to handcuff the Plague. St Louis added a pair in the 8th, which Harlem matched in the 9th.

Charlie Gehringer had 3 hits, including a game-tying home run, and Joe Cronin also had three hits. Reliever Bob Bowman is the only Knight without a hit. Cecil Travis had three hits for St Louis, and Foxx added a pair. The series now returns to Harlem, where the Knights will sent Bobo Newsom to the mound to face Whitey Moore.
