Harlem - Bobo Newsom was aided by a big home run by Hank Greenberg as the Knights beat St Louis, 5-3, to win their third-straight DBS title.

The Knights got on the board first off of Whitey Moore on Jim Tabor's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second inning. The Plague tied it up in the top of the fifth on Ben Chapman's fielder's choice.

Harlem hit it big in the bottom of the fifth, with a pair of doubles with Gehrigner and Keller. Greenberg then homered to put the Knights up 4-1. They added one more, which they gave back the next inning.

Up 5-2, Newsom continued to pitch his game, holding Red Rolfe hitless, which no one has done since August. St Louis got one more in the ninth, but the rally fell well short as the Knight won 5-3.

Despite the loss, the season was an amazing success for the Plague, who rallied from 12 games down in August to win the pennant by 5 games.
