    TROUT FOUR-HITS HARLEM, 3-1

Dizzy Trout allowed only four hits as the Montgomery Burns defeated Harlem, 3-1, in Game Four, to take a 3-1 lead in the 1944 World Series.

Trout (2-0) was masterful, not allowing a run until the ninth inning on a Bill Nicholson home run. Bucky Walters (0-2) pitched very well for the Knights, but did not get any help from the offense (4-31) or the defense (3 Harlem errors).

Jim Russell continued his torrid hitting with a triple in the third, and on Tommy Holmes single, scored the go-ahead run and gave the Burns a lead they would not relinquish. Trout scored the other two runs himself.

The Series could conclude tomorrow with a Burns victory, as they send Jack Kramer to the mound to face Ken Raffensberger.
