TOMMY HOLMES CAN'T BE STOPPED; BURNS ROLL 11-4

Tommy Holmes had his third-straight three-hit game of the Series as theBurns rapped out 17 hits en route to an 11-4 victory in Fremont. The Burns stand one win away from their second DBS title in three years.

The Burns rolled through Whit Wyatt (0-1) like he wasn't even there. Montgomery starter Spud Chandler (1-0) picked the right night to be off. He walked seven and gave up all four runs in his 7 innings, but the Burns offense did the job. Tommy Holmes had three hits, and Joe DiMaggio had a double and a triple. Every Montgomery starter had at least one hit, with the first seven getting at least two hits. Mel Ott had 2 RBI for Fremont.
