Blix Donnelly went eight innings and only allowed one unearned run as Brooklyn defeated the host North Dallas 40, 3-2, in game 2 of the 1947 World Series. Brooklyn now heads home with a 2-0 lead in the series.
Donnelly (1-0) allowed only four hits and a single walk, whereas his opponent, Johnny Sain (0-1) had to keep getting himself out of jams all afternoon. North Dallas rallied for a run in the bottom of the ninth to cut the deficit to one, but that was all they could do.
